As news and hype of the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus begin to build up more and more, Samsung has announced that they plan to push a virtual reality product out. Eurogamer.net claims that “allegedly some developers already have early dev kits of this peripheral, which is currently powered by existing Galaxy devices, but it’s said that the consumer model will require unannounced next-gen phones and tablets.”

The project is aimed to produce a product on the same level of the likes of the Oculus Rift, while offered at a significantly lower cost, a powerful prediction for the company to make. Business Insider, who confirmed that Samsung is working on the device, says the Samsung claimed that it was just a “small project,” which forces doubt into your mind that they can produce it at a lower cost, considering the time and capital put behind the other two big competitors already.

Oculus Rift

The news of the Samsung product comes just a day after news broke that the makers of the Oculus Rift are being sued by ZeniMax for trademark and patent violations.
