Recently there was a trailer for Activision’s upcoming The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct that got a reasonable amount of attention, mostly because of how very lackluster the game looks.  Apparently Activision actually noticed.

Since the trailer has gotten its attention it has been confirmed by the game’s publisher that the trailer is not actually an official trailer, but is instead a fan-made creation mashed together using bits and pieces of footage taken from an in-development build of the game that was shown to IGN.

While this does greatly increase the likelihood of the finished game being significantly more impressive than what the trailer showed, it isn’t clear exactly how far from complete that particular build of the game was, nor was there word of what exactly would change between the development build and the final product.

That The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will have smoother graphics and controls than the unofficial trailer shows goes without saying.  Whether or not it will be a notably better game than it looks like remains to be seen.
