Rockstar parent Take Two Interactive has filed two new trademark registrations for Rockstar North’s Agent, a title that has been stuck in development limbo since it was announced as a PS3 exclusive in 2009.

At the moment, the Agent website still has the same “COMING SOON” title page that it has had over the past 4 years. It offers no hints at what is to come, whether or not it will even still be exclusive or if it will be offered on next generation consoles.

Even as little as two years ago,  the Cold War era espionage game was confirmed to still be in development. It promised to faithfully recreate  Washington, D.C. according to the 1970s and allow for a unprecedented sandbox experience and a story that took morality choices to a whole new level.

The game was hyped up during 2009’s E3, but fell off the radar soon after, with Rockstar being very quiet about its reasons. It has landed on many “Great games that will never see the light of day” type lists, but hopefully this new registration means they are planning to bring the game back in a big way.
