Some issues are to be expected to pop up after a big patch in any game, but SimCity‘s 2.0 patch has gone above and beyond what one would expect from “patch issues”.

Going into the massive amount of issues present in this latest patch would take hours, so let’s just do a short list of problems the Reddit community have experienced so far. If you have any doubts this is widespread, head over to the SimCity subreddit and see exactly how borked 2.0 really is.

  • Sewage overloads even in small cities
  • Multiple sound glitches (from silent cities and phantom sounds to honking trees)
  • Coal trade isn’t working
  • Waste is appearing literally from the ground
  • Railways are stopping for no reason
  • Transit buildings are not functioning
  • Traffic is still messed up
  • Saves are being lost
  • So much! Seriously, I cannot summarize even this “small” list here

Every user is experiencing different bugs, but the concept of losing saves is a scary one. While I would love to take a hit at EA/Maxis, I would much rather warn you to be careful playing SimCity until some of these bugs are ironed out. Losing some functionality is one thing, but running into game-breaking bugs and losing saves is another thing entirely. Be careful out there, SimCity players.
