Gamespot released a video explaining how the team at The Creative Assembly came up with the characters for the game. In this Alien: Isolation video they show us pre-alpha footage and some concept sketches about the direction they want to take the characters.

They talk about the characters being survivors and “wanting to survive in any way they can.” This sets up an interesting situation where the characters are believable and to make sure that they were as real as possible, they cast real people to act out the scenes. They want these characters to “look and feel real.”

A strong emphasis put into making the cast was that they want the players to care about them and to care about the outcome. Check out more in the video below!

Alien: Isolation releases on October 7th, 2014.
