Neverwinter PlayStation 4 release set for mid July

Perfect World Entertainment Inc. along with Cryptic Studios announced a release date for the Dungeons and Dragons-based free-to-play Neverwinter on Sony’s PlayStation 4. On July 19th, PlayStation gamers will have access to the MMMORPG set in a world based on Wizards of the Coast lore and fantasies.

Additionally, players can purchase the Onyx Head Start Pack starting July 12th, to begin their travels through Neverwinter.  

The Onyx Head Start Pack, available for $19.99,  will include the following content items: 

  1. Early access to Neverwinter a week prior to release 
  2. Fragile Onyx Weapon Pack 
  3. Onyx Keyring with 20 enchanted keys 
  4. Adventurer’s Helper Pack 
  5. Graycloak’s Legacy Weapon 
  6. Onyx Horse Mount 
  7. “The Onyx Adorned” Title 

 The PlayStation 4 version of Neverwinter will contain all base content, which entails eight different player classes, and nine expansions of in-game content. The game’s latest update, “The Maze Engine”, that allows players for a multiplayer experience will also be included. 

Neverwinter, which has traditionally been a game for PC will implement new controls meant to optimize the PlayStation treatment, utilizing the controller’s touch screen pad for Party Chat translation. 

Neverwinter takes places in the city of Neverwinter and surrounding areas, where players will learn the lore of the Forgotten Realms.
