With excitement surging from every angle, Sony keeps up the pace by unveiling a thrilling, new half gameplay, half cinematic trailer for the upcoming title, Mortal Kombat X.

The trailer features long-time rivals, Scorpion and Sub-Zero, in an eerie, ominous forest engaged in an epic combat sequence complete with blood, gore, and the infamous “Get over here!”

The video that followed was strictly gameplay, and it exposed two new characters being added to the franchise.

The first is a rather large monstrosity, while the second is a woman who assumes the features and aesthetics of a bumblebee.

Viewers in the crowd erupted in applause after the footage ended with a familiar “fatality,” while the spectators sitting at home raved over the gorgeous graphics and the seamless combos.

Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to release in 2015.
