The sequel is set in the underground tunnels of the Metro in Moscow, Russia. You play from the perspective of Artyom. Humans and animals that have been exposed to the poison-filled air outside the Metro are now mutants. Players will have to fight other survivors and abominations underground in a fight for survival, hopefully mimicking the storytelling in the original Metro 2033.

Last Light was initially meant to be released in middle of last year, but the game was postponed until the first quarter of 2013. It was then pushed back even further in March of this year after THQ went bankrupt.

This post-apocalyptic horror game is being released to Microsoft Windows, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. It has also been said to release to PlayStation 4 in late 2014.
