Dong Nguyen, the indie developer of the smash-hit game Flappy Birds has taken to Twitter to announce that tomorrow (Feburary 9th) he will pull the game from App stores worldwide.

He tweeted saying, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.” He then went on to explain that, “It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep up with it anymore.”

Currently the game is still the number one free app in both Apple’s App store and in Google Play, so quite exactly why he is removing it, when it is said to be making him $50,000 a day remains a mystery.

Nguyen said earlier this week, when talking to Kotaku  that the press was “overrating” the success of his game: “It is something I never want. Please give me peace.”
