F2P Deadline Looms

Players waiting for The TERA: Rising F2P transition still have a ways to go (February 16th, get ready!), but account holders who have subscribed in the past have had free game time over the past week. That free time was supposed to end today, January 16 — but it has been extended thanks to the dreaded manifest issue many players were having.

Many people attempting to login over the past week have run into the “Cannot retrieve manifest” error on their launchers. While there were some work-arounds and even simply repeatedly launching the client would eventually work, the inconvenience was enough to land us some extra time with the game before the F2P crowd rolls in.

I’ve spoken heavily on what TERA‘s free to play transition might mean to players once it comes around. The servers are only getting more populated by the day.

I think I might just stay logged in for the first few days after it goes F2P to avoid the queues, ’cause dey gon’ be big.
