Sales Record Broken in UK: Grand Theft Auto V

CVG is reporting that record breaking pre-sales for Grand Theft Auto V has occurred in the United Kingdom in numbers totaling around 3 million.

Now granted, these are pre-order numbers and some are likely to be canceled. If only half of their current pre-orders pick up their game (1.5 million), this sets the stage for GTA V to surpass the current best selling game, Call of Duty: Black Ops by Activision (which had a 1.4 million sold in one day).

It is not known how many of these numbers are for PS3 or Xbox 360 at this time. Grand Theft Auto V is set to be released globally for both consoles September 17, 2013.

Rockstar Games once again brings us a new installment set in Los Santos featuring three main characters:

• Franklin, a street hustler,
• Michael, a professional ex-con,
• and Trevor.

Naturally, the game is set up to complete jobs of illegal nature so the three man crew will have cushy lives following their life of crime.
