For LittleBigPlanet 3, one of the biggest changes to playing the game is bringing new friends along for the fun. The game looks like a great addition to the series. The familiar artistic backgrounds and animated, stop motion style keep the game wonderfully family friendly.

LittleBigPlanet 3, demoed on stage, used Sackboy to unlock his new friends. First, there was Oddsock, a fast wall jumping little critter. Then there was Toggle. Toggle has the ability to be either big or small, and can use the weight shifts to its advantage. The last character to be introduced was Swoop, a flying type creature that can use its ability to help out friends by picking them up.

From the quick demo, there seems to be an emphasis on working together and using strategically using each character’s unique abilities.

It was also announced that the user created levels from the previous versions of the game will be available to play.

Little Big Planet 3 will release in November.
